Covid Can't Stop Artists !

So 2020 has turned out to be a roller coaster year for the entire world, but as artists, we keep on creating, whether locked in our homes, or venturing out in solitude to the woods. Creative people cannot shut off their inside voices, they need to create, and though some of this pandemic concerns and restrictions are seeping into our daily lives, we render the anxiety of the situation lessened , by heading for our paints, inks, and cameras.

The SOVA artists have an exhibition on in Niagara Falls , from Aug 4th to August 29th, which was previously planned, but dates needed to be adjusted as communities were locked down.

Helen Duplassie,“Mountain Daisy”

Helen adds, “Mountain Daisy” seemed appropriate at this time as, like the pandemic, the Scottish ploughman in the poem is unable to stop the destruction of the mountain daisy. This has special meaning for me, as my father, a native of Scotland, would often quote this Robbie Burns ode.

This SOVA artist is also in the Niagara Falls exhibit and the November exhibition at the Alton Mill Arts Centre, and has completed several new works.
