SOVA Artists have continued working on their artwork, despite Covid lockdowns, and adapting to virtual exhibitions and a large in person exhibition held at the Alton Mill Art Centre which will end March 28th and can now be enjoyed by visitors with covid guidelines in place.

Artist Steve Wilson has been extremely busy the past few weeks. The Gallery has moved down the street to 4452 Queen St. Niagara Falls on the South East corner of Queen and St. Clair. They are open and would love to see you soon.

Artist Margaret Pardy was happy to find out that this piece was accepted into Society of Canadian Artist International On Line Show.. 150 pieces were accepted out of the 666 pieces submitted for the show. This outstanding work of art is a Red Tailed Hawk done on scratchboard.

Artist Joanne Lomas has settled into her new home in Wasaga Beach, which will eventually change again when they find their “Forever” home. In the meantime, Joanne has been doing some interesting projects and posting regularly on Instagram with photoshopped digital creations from her own photographs and ink and watercolour sketches for The 100 Day Project. For The 100 Day Project all the small sketches she is creating will be made into an artist's book.

Artist Lynne Schumacher has been kept very busy. She was involved in an exhibition called the Square Foot show at the Paula White-Diamond Gallery, is in the SOVA exhibit, The artist sent three paintings to the Dundas School of Art for their fundraiser, and several pieces seen here were selected by the Art Gallery of Hamilton for their fundraising event.
As well, artist Lynne Schumacher was also commissioned to do a large piece for a client.

Artist Helen Duplassie has been busy in her studio working on her Italian series (sourced from pre covid trips to Italy :) The first one is the Colosseum and the second is a hillside town which she is still working.

Artist Lynden Cowan was honoured to be one of twenty artists selected to do an online exhibition on the Arts of the Credit website for the month of December, 2020. The artwork Tobermory , and also Quiet Woods 24 by 30 inches ( shown below) was profiled.
As well, Lynden ‘s painting Ribbit, 10 by 12 inches, oil on canvas, was accepted into Society of Canadian Artist International On Line Show.. 150 pieces were accepted out of the 666 pieces submitted for the show, and the Ontario Society of Artists selected the painting Tobermory for the prestigious Open International exhibition. Tobermory went on to be juried in to the prestigious Visual Arts Mississauga (VAM) 43rd Annual Juried Show of Fine Arts. Over 150 artists applied to the exhibition province-wide, and only 43 were chosen.
The Circle Foundation in France released a new video in March of International artists to watch and they had selected two of Lynden’s paintings ( will also be on their website ).The artists artwork is about the 6 min 40 seconds area, but you would probably enjoy looking at everyone that was curated in.
Two of Lynden’s paintings were included in Fine Art Connoisseur and also for the beautiful coffee table book for The Artists for Conservation. ( out of Vancouver).
Lynden has just completed a new painting titled Under Cover 36 by 48 inches, oil on canvas. If you look very closely, you will see the Barred Owl, sitting in the trees. :) Limited edition prints will be available of this work and several others, in her studio at the Alton Mill Arts Centre, 1402 Queen Street West, Alton.
